A couple of layouts January 21, 2009

Here is some of the work I’ve been doing lately. These two are from the January Scrapbook Heaven kit. The funny thing about this picture is that, the other day when I took it, it was WARM in Florida… today it is cool. Last night it was downright COLD!!! (and i’m not a FL native, so I do know cold!)

This one is a picture of my girls in coats they picked out. They haven’t up until now really cared about picking out clothes, but there was just something about these coats… 😀

Frugal scrapper tip: I made the flowers out of multilayers of tissue paper I got on clearance for 38cents at Target last year. LOL They are tinted with Ranger perfect pearls, mixed with water and sprayed from a mini mister.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

First up is a calendar I made with the FABULOUS I Am A Scrapaholic January kit. I wanted to make a wall hanging of some sort, and instead of using a photo, a calendar came to mind…

Foam my heart to yours (teehee!) January 10, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — sandipeiffer @ 6:37 am

Since it’s my post, I am putting a copy of my post for the I Am A Scrapaholic blog here for you to see… I did tell you I’d show you what I’ve been up to! Here’s one of the things… The January I Am A Scrapaholic kit contains a flower pot to alter, but I was challenged to use ONLY the foam and 3 of the flower stems… here’s what I came up with and my whole post from the IAAS blog.

It’s my first chance this month to publically RAVE about the YUMMY IAAS January kit! Not that my words can in any way do it justice, but I’ll do my best! =)

Lynn sent me some beautiful green floral foam… sans flower pot! Hmmm… what to do, what to do… for some reason my strange mind said “LOOKS LIKE CAKE!” Hey, I don’t always question, I just go with it. 😀

I read on the dow site (company who makes the foam) that you can paint it, so, that’s what I decided to do, and then embellish with items from the kit. My “cake” started out looking like this:

First thing I did was squash the circle to match the kit foam as closely as I could. Then I got out my paints… I enjoyed mixing up the paint because I LOVE chocolate, and the paint was looking good enough to eat! (but, I refrained… really!) I then embellished my “cake” with items from the kit as well as a few additions. I thought it was the perfect place to use some buttons! I punched my flowers out of the gorgeous Webster’s pages, and simply pinned them into the foam with straight pins. I used the chipboard hearts instead of flowers and knew I’d come up with something I could sit around for a Valentine’s decoration! Added a little red Martha glitter and WAH LAH! Hope you enjoy my little creation and get a bit of inspiration in case you want to use the foam seperate of the flower pot!

Goodness kids! Where did the last two weeks go??? Well, I haven’t posted anything… I’ve been creating, but have to keep things under wraps for just a little longer! Thought I’d pop in though and wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR, since I haven’t yet… and in case you haven’t created a new calendar for the year… hang in there a little longer… I have an idea! 😉
